When is a classified appendix included?
Specific matters cannot usually be discussed in the public report, because much of the underlying information is state secret. This is because the information reveals i.e. the current level of knowledge of the AIVD and the MIVD, their procedure or their sources. If the Oversight Department of the CTIVD considers it important that account is given of these specific matters, it will draw up a classified appendix to its public report. The classified appendix is sent to the Parliamentary Committee on the Intelligence and Security Services (CIVD).
